is there a way to separate these dats into US/JP/EU?  the redump dats that you download from their site have every dump for the system in 1 dat file...

I'm interested in this as well. I tried Datsplit (Java based), but it doesn't work.

Here, test this. It should split stuff almost well...  ;D

Drag+drop an XML-encoded .dat onto it. The split results are entirely dependent on what set of parentheses comes first in the game name. the results in IBM-PC got a little crazy... hee hee

Though it generally achieves high accuracy by virtue of Redump's naming consistency, this simple code is truly blind. You are expected to look for any incorrectly split / orphaned entries for yourself, and add them back to the parent dat. For example, in PS1 you will find "Reinhart Version" in its own 'region', which should be read in a text editor then its entries copied to any point in the Japan dat without violating the xml structure, i.e. on their own lines between <game> tags.

I didn't bother trying to rewrite the header to specify region, so you should also edit that before/after importing it into your dat manager.

Great timing RIS, I was just re-scanning these, having the new DATs may mean a few changes.

Appreciated

updated to 2013-05-15, check the 2nd post.

note that most of the xbox and xbox 360 entries have been marked as 'possible bad dump' possibly due to them having incorrect layer 0 / layer 1 video partitions.
These 'possible bad dumps' do not get added to the DAT, so you might want to get the previous DAT files from the bottom of the 2nd post.
