There is a software package called "PS3 Tools" by Aldo, it has a PARAM.SFO editor.

This program edits the PARAM.SFO file.

There are several modifications that can be made, when the modification is the same as a game, you will see his name.

For example, sometimes you have the PARAM.SFO of a european game (BLESXXXX), you only have to change to BLUSXXXX that you will have the PARAM.SFO of the american game.

Sometimes you just have to change the version number to match with the IRD.

Search for PARAM.SFO and the BLUS/BLES code of the game in Google.

Sometimes you just have to change the version number to match with the IRD.

I found some of them were corrected just by loading and saving them.

Others need the flags changed to remove the disc-less hack.

I can't find it now, but I ended up writing a program to brute force some of them.

On the issue of "PS3_UPDATE", search for the MD5 on Google.

Alternatively find the standard PUP and pad it to 256mb with zeros, that is the only difference between the standard and the disc versions. I think I used HXD to do it.

@smf

As PARAM.SFO is a combination of options and when it is with the correct combination, it knows which game corresponds. I thought in a program that the person places the code BLUS/BLES and the program chooses the correct options to match with the game which was chosen. Brute Force to test all possible combinations until check with the game is also valid.

I did not know this detail of "256mb with zeros", very interesting. How do I do this procedure in HxD?

ctrl end to get to the end of the file
edit menu, insert bytes, take the offset on the status bar away from 256mb (10000000 in hex) and type that into byte count

In Bytecount I put 10000000 in hex?
I did not understand about the offset in statusbar.

Download the firmware version (Retail / CEX) the you need at the site:

[You are not allowed to view links] Register or Login

Unzip the attached ZIP file and use drag and drop PS3UPDAT.PUP file in the batch (extension bat) file (the trunc.exe file is required).

The new PS3UPDAT.PUP will have the correct hash.

After googling A LOT, info I got is that ISOTools makes a 3K3Y iso that have D1, D2, PIC inside iso. D1, D2, PIC is info that PS3 creates when playing real retail game on real console(interaction). A redump iso is an encrypted iso with no D1, D2, PIC in iso. 3K3Y iso has D1, D2, PIC inside so it can emulate a real iso on a PS3. If you want to match redump, the D1, D2, PIC needs to be removed with the PPF patch.

@antimatter

How can I use the Redump2IRD program to generate the IRD file directly from ISO in the Redump format?

The Redump2IRD asks for D1, D2 and PIC data that does not exist in Redump ISO.
