I was reading something about copy protection, and some (not sure if c64 or what) had either a blank disk or a blank track (can't recall which), which was usually ignored by the scene releasers.  The result was that game would look for that blank track and not find it, so the player would lose every battle.

true, sometimes blank disks are needed to run the game. But those will remain in the TOSEC disk collection. The ones here are plain empty disks.
