Hi,

NewsDemon is a reseller of UNS, same as TheCubeNet, which is the one having posting trouble after 80 gigs. They work fine for downloads, but suck badly for uploads, apparently.

...which is maybe the reason my downloads were corrupt. Therefore you could be wasting your time trying to upload to them if they end up corrupt? The problem could of course just be some harsh Digital Rights filtering, the UK is getting worse for this.

Heh, they don't really have appealing (read: anonymous) payment options, otherwise I'd get a small block account now :)

Well, will be back later tonight and research some more.

You won't get sued for that, don't worry.

I'd rather not worry because it was too much trouble. :) Besides, it is always fun figuring these kinds of things out every couple of years.

Have you managed a solution?

We'll see, I just started with one of the above providers again after patching the posting application a bit to reconnect after every 100 posts on every connection. We will know whether that was successful in a few hours. The provider (xsnews-backed) only accepts about 6mbyte/s (compared to 8-9mbyte/s on UNS/thecubenet), but if that holds steady that is a lot better than losing every 2nd post :)

I tried getting an astranews account, but compared to a 2 years ago it is now much, much harder to get a prepaid gift debit card with Bitcoin; apparently somebody has been clamping down on the non-scam and non-fraudulent providers of those. Shame, really.

Always, someone has to break the working toys. >:(
Anyway, glad to hear you're back on the business. I am checking your previous uploads and, so far, everything is going smoothly. Only a few file here and here to be fixed, but nothing the PARs can't do, so I am utterly happy with your hard work.
Thank you!

Hopefully future uploads will be better. I am going to let the current one run through, it'll probably be missing a few articles and I hope the PARs will take care of that; have fixed another bug in the poster and made it more defensive. Maybe now it'll do what it should have been doing from the beginning.

If you find any broken stuff (other than that blasted NEC PC-Engine one), please let me know :)

Tested:
Sega Lindbergh (v2014-04-26 09-53-03) - ?
That one works.

I haven't uploaded the new nzbs at the start of the thread since I wanted to test a couple of them first and maybe reupload some files and splice a nzb out of them together :)

That'll probably break, at least it did here.

It's the ongoing one, so I'll know soon. ^^
I added WonderSwan Color that you forgot to NZB, I guess.

Yeah, he was using nzbindex or binsearch or some such (which is also an excellent way to see how majorly I'm f*ing up uploading these sets. Just like all things in life, if you don't do it yourself, it won't get done right. I am THIS <--> close to writing a simple usenet binary uploader that doesn't suck (tm).

I added 7 more NZBs, enjoy :)

In fact, I loaded all the articles from alt.binaries.emulators.misc and then I checked what was available and I'm downloading it. ^^
Right now I'm fixing the Games Wave thingy and I have updated the test list.

Also a valid way ;-)

If I were you I would wait on Games Wave end NEX PC-FX. I'm redoing the PAR2s. Default parameters for par2cmdline suck big time for big sets; I ended up with 12gbyte+ par2 files on the PSX set. The ZapIT one doesn't download cleanly from the nzbindex nzbs either, though it should be fixable with a sufficiently intelligent client. I'm trying to make it so at the very least these work with sabnzbd out of the box :)
