I noticed that.
2GB PAR file kinda defeat the purpose of PAR. :P
Anyway, I'm using Unison for Usenet and MacPar Deluxe for PAR and it works quite great. No issue here.

The defaults seemed fine with smaller sets, and then I just automated it (which also blew up because the defaults stop working when a set hits 120 or so gigs -- no pars are created at all in that case).
I'm gonna finetune the par2 generation some more at some point, but want to get the first batch of stuff out of the way.

Strange bug.
Is that a "users will never get more than 640KB of RAM" bug?

Yes. The software was written at a time when people were posting sets of 50-1000mbyte on usenet. Now we have people posting sets of 100gbyte or more.

Once you hit 700g for a set, you get trouble with par2 repairs; the scene psp packs on usenet are an example; you simply can't repair them with par2cmdline. You need to use an alternative implementation (SmartPar3 or something like that worked).

Considering emulation is now dealing with 2-10tb sets (psp, ps2, etc.), that is unfortunate.

Indeed.
Usenet technology tend to stall these years. :-(

Three more added.

Now there should only be five (large-ish) sets missing, two of which have some missing in action discs (Dreamcast is missing around ~3g, Saturn is missing 2 discs, see the fix-requests forum for more details *hint* *hint* ;-) )

Correct, those were the ones I meant

- Playdia

Incorrect, it's in the first post

Quote
- Grandstand Tutor (Tutot, Pyuuta)
- Kiss-site

Whoops, missed the Tomy folder, will be added to list :)

Quote
- Commodore 64 CD
- Europa-R
- RingEdge
- Triforce GD-ROM
- ZX Spectrum CD

For these I don't have any .dat-files. The trurip site lists these systems, but does not offer .dats for them; I suspect it's because some of them are not dumped yet. There is a torrent for Triforce over at PD and I'll add it to the list, but for the remaining 4 I have no source.

I blame Trurip, then.

Also, seems that you don't have uploaded NZBs for these:
- trurip Bandai WonderSwan Color (SwanCrystal) (v2014-04-26 09-44-04)
- trurip Tsukuda Original Othello Multivision (v2014-04-26 09-40-22)
- trurip Videoton TV-Computer (v2014-04-26 09-40-37)
- trurip VM Labs Nuon (v2014-04-26 09-47-29)
- trurip VTech V.Flash Home Edutainment System (v2014-04-26 09-51-54)
- trurip Wang VS (v2014-04-26 09-40-58)
- trurip Watara SuperVision (Quickshot, Hartung SV-100, Hypervision, Tiger Boy) (v2014-04-26 09-41-16)
They are uploaded (I got them without issues) but you didn't upload any NZB for them on the first page.

Overall, I am pretty impressed by your hard work and by the fact you have been more than effective at this. Hat off, mate.

For this I blame the forum; it apparently eats files if you try to attach too many to a post at the same time :-) I have reuploaded them now :)

Thanks. At least this way it is going to be easy for all future collectors of TR sets to get to a common baseline quickly (or as quickly as your usenet provider allows :)

First the tracker, then the forum; at the end, we'll take Manhattan. ;)

Anyway, I remain a Usenet advocate. I always wanted to start Trurip but never started for real and your post made me do it. It's a big relief, really. And it may even be done just before the soon-to-be-released TOSEC update. ;D

I am still missing aroubd 6-8G of TOSEC ISO (the very last part of Sega CD Games ISO, everything from Tomcat Alley to Yumimi); it had been slowly dripping in at 30-50kbyte/s for the past couple of weeks, but now the tracker is down ... Maybe I'll finish that before the next tosec update, too :)

Hope so.
It's so a mess (pun intended), each new TOSEC release.
