Xbox and Nintendo 3DS Emulators
« on: October 24, 2014 - 14:10:17 »
I would like to spread the word about two emulators that I started following recently.

The first one is the most promising Xbox emulator (and Sega Chihiro) named "Xqemu", that improves the work of previous QEMU:

The second one is the first public attempt to program a working "Nintendo 3DS" emulator. Its name is "Citra" and it's in a very early stage:

I hope that someone will be interested, and why not, that womeone with skills and passion will help improving these emulators!

 :)

Seriously? We don't yet have an Emu capable of emulating everything based on that big box of poop? Surely some VM could make lite work of it? Hell, months ago I was surfing the net through 10.9 Mavericks running on my shitty 5yr old PC!

How the hell did Dolphin get to where it is (almost effortlessly)?

Conversely, it seems that Citra is making extremely rapid development. As in -- they have a legit video of a semi-playable LOZ:OOT. It has a number of clear bugs (and runs at only 2-4 fps because the recompiler is in a very early stage), but it's still amazing progress considering what little time Citra has been around for.

I need is a tutorial how to make XQEMU running on a Windows 7 step by step.
I know guys the game is slow, no sound and etc...
But i just worried about this project, since January i didnĀ“t see any update.
I got the answer throw youtube and soon or later will continue.
For now they are very concentrated on Nintendo 3DS.  :'(
I think they are nearly close to make this a great success quickly.

Speaking of Citra I was wondering how come using CLRMAME and the NoIntro Dats do not cover DECRYPTED 3DS?
Being as Citra and any other emulator you come across needs decrypted roms to use I would think that the collection would be labelled with a choice same as the regular NDS.
At first I thought 3DS was normal then NEW3DS was the decrypted but I have no idea and being as I don't follow inside the forums I can't find a direct answer anywhere else.

My question is, why, if the hardware is almost PC-Hardware, isnt is possible to get any, i mean ANY, emulator to run XboX.
I mean, its no problem to run any OS in a VM, but not that XboX-OS. This is 99% a PC, and there is no program which translates the tiny difference.
It's just my thoughts, so if anyone can teach me better, lets do it.
just not to be bad, i just proclaim to not to use search anymore for others than myself. Its easy. If you got almost fullsets, your missings are often posted together in one.

From what I know, it's theoretically possible, but there is very little documentation. Microsoft could probably do it (as they did on Xbox 360 for some games), but it's the last 1% that makes the difference. Also, there are not that many Xbox games you can't get somewhere else that are worth playing. That makes interest low.

An argument, but no clarify.
If i can trust wikipedia, ps2, dreamcast and gamecube are from same time, so there is no discussion about working / non working emulator, they do. But no Xbox emulator slightly in sight. Even no alpha which just start. Nothing. I am just wondering the more i think about it.
