Nintendo Super Famicom [T-En] Collection
« on: January 04, 2017 - 08:27:01 »
Experimental dat, based on the old (dead & defunct ?) Maybe-Intro Nintendo Super Famicom set by Powerpuff.

After countless questions regarding dat files I finally gave in and made one.

New dat available, lots of fixes and a few additions (and a few useless removed) which eluded me the first time around.

Yes only latest versions, obsolete versions goes in the bin to keep things nice and tidy.

I Love Golf - Out of Bounds Club was patched with correct rev 1.0 rom I recently posted in the undatted section.

unfortunately, like far too many sites, they were irresponsible and run a server broken by robots.txt rules, so a good part of the site is obviously lost for good (the downloads folder, to be precise)

as far as the information presented by the website goes, the HTML is still available of course (well, whatever was reachable publicly). is it worth archiving what's left?

Big Ninny getting power trippy playing Whac-A-Mole™ again?  I have a gut feeling RH's mistake was creating a twitter account a couple of months ago to advertise a bunch of Nintendo content.

I tried to mirror their interesting files a couple of times, but as usual, the overreaching rules of robots.txt (among less ignorable protection mechanisms) is everyone's loss.  They had at least three topics asking about providing site torrents in the past three years, but it was said they shouldn't influence romhoarding mentality... As a resource linked to by countless websites and readmes, they should have been doing more to preserve their legacy.  Archiveteam attempted a quick pass of their server earlier today and got blocked by a webadmin login prompt off port.  I wonder if this is what Trace was referring to last night when he asked for knowledge of cracking passwords?

...How was your archive, Yoshi?

*Edit: This might not have been a real twitter account.  Waiting to see a proper confirmation.  [You are not allowed to view links] Register or Login
