Perfect! EXACTLY what I was going to ask for...

Whats the story with the Wii/PSP etc DATs? Have they gone 'non-public' now since too new platforms?

You have to be a redump.org member to download?

Wii/PSP etc DATs are only available to dumpers.
This has always been the case.

No Intro has a very good PSP dat that should probably be quite close to the redump dat. AFAIK the dumping method using PSP Filer is the same on both sites.

Hmm.... I may be mistaken, but I don't believe that's correct. Pretty sure I've downloaded direct from the (public) website in the past. Thought being taken "out of public view" was a more recent decision (understandably so to ensure a degree of protection against the project). Regardless, seems logical that only members can easily access now I guess - was just curious, since it hadn't seem to be communicated.

Ahhh, that's interesting. Already have many gigs of PSP in No-Intro, so would be handy.

I'm interested in this as well. I tried Datsplit (Java based), but it doesn't work.

Post by: Zandro on March 25, 2013 - 10:40:20
Here, test this. It should split stuff almost well...  ;D

Drag+drop an XML-encoded .dat onto it. The split results are entirely dependent on what set of parentheses comes first in the game name. the results in IBM-PC got a little crazy... hee hee

Though it generally achieves high accuracy by virtue of Redump's naming consistency, this simple code is truly blind. You are expected to look for any incorrectly split / orphaned entries for yourself, and add them back to the parent dat. For example, in PS1 you will find "Reinhart Version" in its own 'region', which should be read in a text editor then its entries copied to any point in the Japan dat without violating the xml structure, i.e. on their own lines between <game> tags.

I didn't bother trying to rewrite the header to specify region, so you should also edit that before/after importing it into your dat manager.

updated to 2013-05-15, check the 2nd post.

note that most of the xbox and xbox 360 entries have been marked as 'possible bad dump' possibly due to them having incorrect layer 0 / layer 1 video partitions.
These 'possible bad dumps' do not get added to the DAT, so you might want to get the previous DAT files from the bottom of the 2nd post.

One question.
i have the full PSX redump japanese set along with 214 gb of various sources JAP psx games.
among these 214 gb im trying to delete all games that already in the redump set.
According to Redump the set is only missing 3XX games ,but inside there is 1056 games.
i wanna leave only the games that arent on Redump ( should be around 80 gb)
Manually its like hell ,for you guyz that cheat (use dat softwares) is there is a way ?
a little step by step for a poor guy in need .
thanks in advance

You might be out of luck, unless you want the uncompressed size (which can be determined through something like CMP).

Think its only a scant few with a fully complete Redump set, but could be wrong. Think IBM for example has MIA images left, right and centre.

Someone with dumper status over at redump.org will have to provide DAT's for PS3/Wii, access to those DAT's isn't public like for the legacy system DATs.

NOTE:  The PS3 and Wii dats have ROMVault entries in the header that will unpack your files into named folders.

If this is not what you want you will need to remove the ROMVault line from these two dats.

Oops! Forgot to mention that!
I have my Wii & PS3 uncompressed as they don't compress at all well (due to them being encoded(PS3), and having scrambled data (Wii))

I usually grab the entire DAT Set from the site, but thought it easier to track and keep up with changes by just updating my own DAT set, and archiving that up

Apologies to anyone affected ;X

Attached is are the latest DATs, as they usually are (no RV strings to keep uncompressed)

Not a lot of activity for a few days on redump... Usually means only one thing!
There's going to more-than-likely be a flood of new stuff when there are new DATs!

Here are the latest WITH (!) the above RV string to have Wii & PS3 uncompressed
( I asked for feedback about this, and got none, it's an easy edit/removal, and easier for me to keep my own DATs up to date, and just archive them once in a while )

Some time ago EliUmniCk made a this handy GUI tool for splitting and filtering redump DAT files.  It allows you to filter Countries, Regions, Game types etc.

With his help I have updated the language configuration of his tool so that it now also works on the latest redump dats.

So here is an non-official 0.1a version for you to enjoy. Any and ALL credit goes to EliUmniCk

Unzip it - run it with

jave -jar redump-split-0.1a.jar

(Edited - one day I will be able to operate a keyboard like a pro)

Tools fails for me
Only works if I manually edit DATs and remove 2nd line

<!DOCTYPE datafile PUBLIC "-//Logiqx//DTD ROM Management Datafile//EN" "http://www.logiqx.com/Dats/datafile.dtd">

after that, all is well

After some investigating, I can now confirm that this DOES work without the bug mentioned above, when Java (Oracle at least) 1.7 is used.
1.8 DOES NOT work, and errors something like this:

[org.xml.sax.SAXParseException; systemId: file:/array2/ROMVault/DATRoot/Redump/Apple%20-%20Macintosh%20(20140610%2021-00-58).dat; lineNumber: 2; columnNumber: 114; External DT

PS3 & Wii DAT modified as per usual, seeing as they DO NOT compress, and therefore it is futile to compress them in that state, without either

Is there a string for RV to keep all the uncompressed files (WII and PS3) in the main folder and not individual folders?

Thank you for the dats much appreciated.

Chillibean: Not that I know of, I think it puts ISOs in their own folder to avoid filename collision.
Seeing as RV is now open-source, and you're not the first person to ask about this, maybe someone could code this?

@d34con: There are a few 3rd party tools that will allow region splitting.

There's one by Zandro that is a simple drag & drop BATch script, another one is java.
( I have attached the latest v0,2 final to this post) - Thanks to EliUmniCk
I believe there is a tool on the forums too :)

else the dropdown will disappear.

Nice one!!! Sorry to have lapsed, been having a really hard time adjusting to have to further and further rely on morphine every day just to barely function.
I'm frustrated to hell i can't currently finish this build, I'm at my mum's again to try finish it there, and have company and actually a meal, as i haven't even been eating either.
Really not been doing well as of late, almost tempted to just overdose on morphine, and go on another manic!!!
Still not really seen any outweighing downsides against the manic positives.
Hoping to be finished with this build today/tomorrow!.

Hi, a simple question please, maybe it has been already ask, when you install new datafiles, like Redump set, the set Dreamcast, i have the version "20160130" and i will to update to "20160320".
It's necessary to RomVault to rescan all files/roms ?
Or maybe i can use DATinate to short datafiles with "20160103" and "20160320" ?

Be the Force be with you ;).

Title: Re: Complete redump dat

Step 1: Delete old dat from your tree
Step 2: ,Place updated DAT exactly where the old one was that you deleted.
Step 3: Update DATs in ROMVault
Step 4: Optionally click find fixes & Fix ROMs

TL;DR: update dat in dir, no need to rescan roms, only update DATs button in RV.

nvm, just the ticket, needed some upgrades.
still missing equipment/correct computer drive/xk3y to dump xbx/360 and the same for ps3/computer bdrom drive. (psx to some degree. i can do cloneCD shit no sweat, it's the multi-track shit i have no idea about, searching fails for the correct method, though it's probably down to my assness on terms?!  :-[ that other one uses cloneCD so it seems?)
anyway, cheers again, now to piss of back under the rock crawled out from.  8)
Title: Re: Complete redump dat
Post by: Kludge on April 07, 2016 - 01:19:18
multi track stuff is generally done with ISOBuster (or similar, this is the easy part) for track 1
and the other tracks are to be done as BINARY, without headers (ie WAV)
I have had Jackal set up my EAC for me to do this a while back, including the drive offset etc etc etc
Its definitely useful to have a known CD as a reference so if you rip a disc correctly, your hashes will be identical :)
as for PS3 dumping, I have 3k3y Ripp3r hardware and an old PS3 drive that I've married with it.

There are some LG BD drives that read the discs, but I'm not sure how you would get the actual dkeys using that method, (It may be possible, i'm not sure), so if you're actually dumping new stuff, without dkeys, redump won't take it... but it will certainly match stuff that is in the database :)

Redump is still down.

This does not look good. Could be that their server crashed or that they got taken down.

Both is bad.

late response to the redump fiasco, was in the loop from an outside perspective.
chewed up a user from rd elsewhere for many many MANY reasons regarding this matter, got zero help, and it irked my insides to see users ask and be ignored.

this is why here rocks, the professionals are always about.
thanks once again for this update, and good luck getting back to biz! ;D

@amiga1200

I know its off topic, but I get the feeling redump is too elitist, with all the strange restrictions.
Why can't guests not access the wii database? Why limiting the registration of new users? Why, what, why?  >:(
I have a few wii discs that aren't even in their so "super" database, for example samurai warriors 3 pal or samurai warriors katana pal.

And why does trurip not have a wii section, or am I blind?

Just my rants.  >:(
Returning to topic again, redump is still down.

Why can't guests not access the wii database? Why limiting the registration of new users? Why, what, why?  >:(

The first is just a safety measure.. more recent systems like PS3 and Xbox 360 with their Disc ID / SS etc. references might be more prone to being detected as a form of copyright infringement. So we'd rather not show these to just anyone browsing the site.

The second was a decision by iR0b0t. Maybe because there were almost no new users signing up anymore wanting to contribute, but only people that were looking for downloads? Or maybe he's just too lazy to process new registrations.

Either way, it has nothing to do with elitism. The only elitist project out there is called Trurip.

I have to say that giving the latest rom addition as the title of the dat pack has high chance of confusing in this way.  People often think he's posting that game, not dats that now include it.

Update message posted on the redump site.
Quote

Hello everybody!

Something went wrong with the server, I can't tell if it was a corrupted harddrive, even thought i have been told it was. I had no server access at all to do my own attempts to scan the server harddrives and to restore the latest database backups.

The dum:p (b) customer support did not want to cooperate with me at all. To they own words "they replaced the corrupted harddrive and the problem has been solved, i shall reinstall the server again", but it did not change anything. I am confused and ashamed of their incompetence...

I will setup the new server in the first week of January and the site will be finally back again!

Have a smooth start into the new year, wish you good luck!

From redump.org:

Quote
Update, January 10th: My first attempt to get a new server failed because the server i wanted to lease went out of stock and my order got canceled. This server needs another 10-14 days to get available again, but i am not waiting any longer and will be ordering another one today/tomorrow, which is a little bit slower than the one i was getting first. However, its still faster than the last server we had. Hope to get a responce from customers support asap to go on with server setup.

Another update:

Quote
Update, January 19th: Good news guys! After weeks of back and forth shit talks from server customer support I finally got someone on line who actually cares about customers, so I got the server login data just a few hours ago. After some sleepless days due to some businnes issues i will be able to get on server setup this friday, it will probably be late evening in middle european time. See you soon guys.

Edit:
Quote
Update, January 20th: Guys, sadly I can't begin with the server setup at this point, because to do so i need the server password, which will be available once i completed the address verification, and to complete it i have to get the letter with address verification code, which should be on its way. Maybe it will be the case tomorrow, if not, then on monday. I will begin with server setup as soon as i get this damn code. They say: "This service is available for german customers only". I am so happy to have this service. It is so useful as a donkey at showjumping.

RIGHT you lucky lot!
Between Myself, EliUmniCk & DarkSabre76 (mainly them, being totally honest!) The three amigos, The three stooges etc etc
An EXCITING, and BRAND NEW TYPE of DATPack for redump!!!

There is as follows, to explain:

Main folder: Redump\

and inside this the subfolders are now as follows ;)

* CUEs_n_GDIs\
* DATs\ (These are completely UNtouched, and the originals you're used to)
* DATs_Force_Unpacked\ (These have been processed with DarkSabre76's SabreTools to force unpacking)
* DATs_with_Metadata\ (This folder has BOTH the DATs, but additionally has dkeys for PS3 and Wii U, and SBIs for PSX injected, thanks to EliUmniCk, as well as metadata for XBOX & XBOX 360 )
* DATs_with_Metadata_Force_Unpacked (As above, but with additional SabreTools force unpacking flags)
* DKEYs_n_SBIs (Included in here are 3 zipfiles, DKEYs for both the Wii U & PS3, as well as SBIs for PSX )

Again, Many thanks to EliUmniCk & DarkSabre76! Without them I'd still be using my kludged BAT script, instead of this FAR superior presentation which is now implemented.

Any feedback is really appreciated!

Kludge, do you know how to decrypt redump ps3 isos using the supplied keys? ps3dec says "ERROR: Key must be 32 hex characters in length"
Title: Re: Complete redump dat
Post by: Kludge on September 13, 2017 - 20:15:38
@nukhem: keys need to be exactly 32 bytes at a guess, for some stupid reason they are downloaded as 34 bytes; This is because there is a character return (or enter key) added on the end, Its been mentioned before, but iRobot hasn't done anything about it!

Make sure the .dkey is 32 bytes exactly, and no charater return/enter, and it should work fine :)

BIG NOTE:   THIS PACK HAS KNOWN ISSUES (I FOUND THEM!!! RELAYED ISSUE TO ELIUMNICK!!!)
PLEASE DO NOT DOWNLOAD, SOME OF THE DATS ARE OUTDATED WHEN THERE ARE NEWER DATS, PS3 IS AN EXAMPLE!

Sorry for the delays, there are major updates on the redump site that are making the existing scripter not work properly.
Here is a "best effort" pull from yesterday, Eli is awaiting the new changes from iRobot (redump site main man), once those changes are done, Eli will get the new redumper sorted out, and i'll post a full pack :)

Here's some debug info for you, to show what is missing/wrong

Code:
Only registered users can see contents. Please click here to Register or Login.Notes: As far as I can remember, Paccy maintains those 3 sets by himself, he has to try keep up with the latest DATs from redump, and then decode/pack them, and then RE-DAT those ones.

The Redump provides the IRDs of the PS3 games?

There are still outstanding issues related to the REDUMP website, which is out of our control (iRobot's work to implement change, and what's taking time)

Ok, so I'm relatively new to this whole dat-stuff. So far I've just been downloading dats from no-intro/redump, checking my roms and that's it. However, since I wanted to use nNASOS for my GameCube and Wii games I used your datfiles. Went checking a bunch of games and clrmamepro marked a few games as wrong. I was like 'wait a minute... why...?'. Only then I realized not all games in the datfile have .dec hashes yet...

Is there a way to contribute some of those hashes?

{COPY PASTA from a PM I just sent}

Health-wise I should have probably gone to hospital, but my stubbornness held me at home, just trying to overdose on morphine, and sleep through it.
Will do an updated (STILL BAD, thanks to iRobot not completing his work, and eliumnick altering the Java Archive (JAR) to reflect changes -_-

This isn't the sort of mess I 'enjoy' pushing out, but there's just a lot of mess going on (behind the scenes), so here's another "best effort",I'm not sure if itsany better than my last effort over a month ago?!

Here it is:
------------------EPIC FAIL!----------------- seem to have completely lost a chunk of data, including the "redumper". errrrrr :shifty: -- I'll leave this here as a timestamp of acknowledgement that the DATs etc need generating...Will scour 130TB+ of disk space..... (as you do  8) )

RIGHT! Thanks to Eli & Paccy we SHOULD be back up to speed (well, as far as iRobot's lagging in implementing changes)

Please let me know if anything is wrong, as this was set up from scratch, but SHOULD have far more recent metadata (UNLIKE previous posts!)

ONE MOMENT PLEASE..... Error encountered, re-doing.

IMPORTANT FOOTNOTE: aviloria: you'll have to re-download as you were so quick, Eli spotted an error, and we've hopefully fixed it.
going for 3rd run of the JAR now

Someone know why the Wii dat of compressed nasos (*.dec.iso) has a few files in its uncompressed form (*.iso)?

I'm talking about DATs_in_DEC_WUX/Nintendo - Wii (1960) (2018-01-13 02-03-44).dat

Same with GameCube.

My guess is (I haven't tested yet) because there's no/little gain in converting those games so they leave it as is, so as not to waste time in processing.

I don't think that's the reason.  All Star Karate on wii is like that and it has a 50% compression ratio.  If you asked me it is just a mistake.
Title: Re: Complete redump dat
Post by: edc on February 14, 2018 - 21:42:50
This has nothing to do with gain.. The datter uses a script which compares the original dat against his .dec store.. if he hasn't them it the entry in the dat wont be replaced with the .dec version.

And the are also a few MIA's. I am working on the nNASOS dats. I have them complete, but not in the format most of you lots want (uncompressed). So I need to write a conversion tool. But there is a lot more on my plate atm...

The scene releases of the Playstation 4 games were always released in ISO format and I always checked with the Redump database. However, now the new releases are coming in PKG format.

According to the release "PS4.Standards.2018-CONSOLE", all new Playstation 4 releases will be in PKG format and old releases in ISO format should be re-released in PKG.

I already have 800GB of releases in ISO format checked by DAT Redump. I'll have to download again.

The Redump database catalogs discs. Will they catalog PKG files (no discs)?

If you mean submit data to the redump project, you can't do that unless you own a genuine disc that you dumped yourself using the proper methods.

I don't use clrmamepro for managing my stuff, as I only collect dumps I'm really interested in, so my collection is small enough to maintain manually. But I'm curious, would it be possible to take Redump DATs from this and render the filenames alphabetically? When opening with a text editor to compare with my own stuff, it's a pita because I need to use the search function for every entry I'm looking for. Any suggestion is appreciated!

2 examples,
get DatWorkshop Pro: https://www.emulab.it/simone/utilities/datworkshop-pro/ to read the *.dat
or get Altova XMLSpy, rename *.dat to *.xml and sort by column you like..

Many thanks :D
