Building a complete GoodTools DAT
« on: December 14, 2017 - 14:03:28 »
Hi guys, sometime ago i found some dude shared a DAT for Goodtools,

YES i know goodtools do much more that just crc/sha scanning (skip headers, etc).

Anyway i've been collecting complete GoodSets, rescanning, etc... So i want to build my own updated and complete Dat.

Which is the favourite tool today to make a dat or superdat? SabreTools? DatWorkshop?
Any tips for an aspiring dat creator?

Thanks

cmp ---> profiler ---> there's a button "dir2dat" ---> play with the options.
just not to be bad, i just proclaim to not to use search anymore for others than myself. Its easy. If you got almost fullsets, your missings are often posted together in one.

Thanks both!
I tried clrmame way, it generates <machine> instead of <game>, let's see sabretools!

<machine> and <game> are the same thing, it doesn't matter what gets output.

Anyone knows how the gootools dats in the libreto-database were generated? I think someone got the fullsets and just build some dats?

Perfect comment!

Don't you think is best to incorporate the dats better than nothing?
Of course i understand what goodtools do, but...
