hi,

thanks for doing such a job on nes logic.
i have a question about the resulting set. will this somehow integrated into no-intro nes at some point or will it be
a stand alone set ?

The roms match No-Intro already, it's just the VS. roms which are an extra addition.
This DAT is headered.

No-intro is headerless but it works with the header-skipper.

DOM could theoretically support that as an option.
Personally I would really like to have the information there, too.

Set is now in a zip, It now boils down to emulator differences.

NintendulatorNRS and Mesen works "best" from what I can tell.

Latest update contains header fixes for a few SMB games so they run like they should after I cleaned the headers.

Nonetheless I think i'm finished now, if you find any issues let me know.

Another one : Lupin Sansei - Pandora no Isan (Japan)

I really don't want to take up all the space here in this thread.

I now put the archive in /ROM so it will show the last modification date.

Doing all this work, you should really have supported iNES 2

ALL iNES headers are manmade, so there is no right or wrong.
STOP caring about emulators!

The header is for dump information, not to make the game playable in an emulator.

The first 13 bytes are needed.

Namely "Byte 9    Unused    TV system    Upper bits of ROM size"
i.e. Should it run PAL (50fps) or NTSC (60fps)

Many emu's run according to an internal database, NOT as the original dump (cart) was intended for.

Try playing a EURO dump of Mario Kart or Metoid at 60fps!

Now, i've set a bunch of Unl roms labeled with (PAL) to use PAL with iNES2

Mostly the Nintendulator db was used for these things.

Not to mention any rom with mapper above 255 or with a submapper require iNES2.0 which I have support(ed) for.

I do the testing without any database/auto-correct enabled (Nintendulator or Mesen)

More iNES2.0 in use now, also corrected 3-4 EU roms which were labeled with NTSC in iNES2

Mind settings the iNES2.0 is exponentially more difficult than settings the 1.0 header since you have to check for Region as well.

Went through each rom with Mesen DB and corrected mapper/submapper

(USA, Europe) ROMs set to Both PAL & NTSC with iNES 2.0
